How Much Do I Charge For My Services?
I don’t have a price list and will need to see your document(s) first to give you a quote, but here are some useful guidelines:
- My minimum rate for the certified translation of a driver’s licence is $50 CAD plus tax (as applicable).
- I take similarities—within the same document and between all your documents—into account when I quote my price. If, for example, you need your and your family members’ birth certificates translated and they are in the same format, I will quote a reduced price if you send me all the documents at once.
- I keep a copy of all my translations on a cloud-based secure backup platform, so if you need a duplicate in the future, I can issue it for a small reprinting/certification fee. Even better, if you only need a digital copy, I will find the scanned copy of translation I did for you back then and email it to you for free!
- I assess all translation projects based on characteristics such as technical complexity of the subject matter, volume of text, legibility, formatting layout, and urgency, among others. If, for example, I translated your birth certificate last year and now you are asking me to translate your doctoral thesis, my price will vary this time because I will have to spend time researching and verifying terminology and recreate an entirely different document.
